Friends of Primeplus
The Center depends on support from the City of Norfolk, the United Way of South Hampton Roads, the State, area agencies that fund programs for seniors such as Senior Services and YOU. Dues and fees only cover a fraction of the Center’s total budget. We depend on our members and friends in the community to make up the difference each year. Gifts of appreciated stock may yield a valuable tax advantage. Gifts of cash are eligible for tax-deductions under regulations of the I.R.S. Code. If you are employed by or retired from a company with a Matching Gift Program, please let us know; your gift may be substantially increased. Friends’ contributors are listed regularly in our publications by giving level.

Program Donations Voluntary contributions, usually for non-fee based classes, help us to continue to provide a myriad of opportunities. Please look for the donation boxes in each classroom. The Monthly Totals are listed by program in PrimeTime.

Tributes and Memorials Your gift to us honoring or memorializing a friend or loved one will be recognized in PrimeTime and the honoree or family will receive a lovely tribute card acknowledging you as the donor of the gift. These contributions are a gracious way of helping the Center while expressing your feelings for a friend or loved one.
 
GIFTS IN-KIND We accept donated items, in excellent condition, which can be offered for re-sale in our shop. If you want to know what types of items we accept, please call our reception desk at 625-5857. Treasures are items needed by the staff of Primeplus for our many programs and are outlined in our Wish List.

Wish List We publish a list of items we need to support our programs each month in PrimeTime. Donors can give us the funds to purchase the item or make an in-kind gift of the item. We cannot attempt to value any in-kind contributions but will provide a thank you note for the item. Wish List donors are recognized monthly in PrimeTime.
 
Donations Restricted and unrestricted donations of cash, stock or real property are always appreciated. Donations are recognized monthly in PrimeTime. If you are interested in designating a planned gift that can be a permanent legacy, please call the Executive Director at 625-5857 and she will arrange a meeting with professionals.
 

Join our Capital and Endowment Campaign as we raise the funds to renovate and equip our new home on Newport Avenue for our Active Adult Programs and our Adult Day Services. Our Goal is $1,000,000 and your gift of any size will help us achieve our dreams. There are Naming and Dedicatory Opportunities for large gifts, but 100 gifts of $1,000 or 1,000 gifts of $100 will put us well on our way to creating a state-of-the art Senior Center.
