Adult Day Services
At Primeplus, Adult Day Services (ADS), we understand the emotional and physical demands of caregiving. Our program is designed to replace your anxiety with confidence and relief, so your family can stay together, safely and comfortably at home.
When your loved one spends the day with us, you gain peace of mind knowing they are in a secure, caring, and professionally supervised environment. You can go to work, attend appointments, run errands, or simply take time to recharge, without the constant worry of leaving someone home alone. While in our care, participants enjoy daily socialization and companionship, structured exercise and movement activities, fun, stimulating games and group programs.
Primeplus provides a safe, welcoming, community-based environment where every activity is thoughtfully designed to enhance self-esteem, encourage independence, and promote social engagement.
Caregiving is a labor of love, but even the most devoted caregivers need support. Primeplus ADS provides the reliable respite that at-home caregivers depend on. Families consistently tell us that our program helps them maintain important life roles as workers, spouses, parents, volunteers, and active members of the community.
Experts agree that adult day services can significantly ease caregiver stress, reduce burnout, and improve overall family well-being. By supporting both the participant and the caregiver, we help preserve the strength and unity of the family.
Primeplus Adult Day Services is a state licensed and Veteran’s Administration approved program serving adults age 45 and older who require daily supervision due to chronic health conditions, including:
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Dementia
- Other cognitive impairments
- Chronic medical conditions requiring structured support
Our licensed caregiver respite program operates each weekday, providing consistent, dependable care in a community-based setting that reduces the need for more costly institutional services.
Services include:
Health Maintenance and Nursing administration of medication in compliance with physician’s orders, quarterly assessments, hypertension screening, nutrition, weight monitoring, and health education.
Individualized Care Plans designed to promote participant’s highest level of independent functioning.
Assistance with personal care and other activities of daily living.
Fitness Programs such as exercise, walking, and active games which prevent secondary disabilities resulting from inactivity.
Opportunities for positive social interaction and mental stimulation: dances, parties, entertainment, and one-on-one discussions.

Zoom meetings are held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7PM
Caregiving can be an isolating experience, but you’re not alone in this challenge. There are over 34 million Americans providing unpaid care. When you’re overwhelmed and exhausted by caregiving responsibilities, it can feel like you’re the only person dealing with so much. That’s why caregiver support groups are so helpful. They’re filled with people who are in similar situations. Being able to talk with others who truly understand what you’re going through reduces stress, validates your experience, and gives connection and support.
The caregiver support group hosted by Primeplus Senior Centers is open to all caring for a loved one. This group is a safe space to discuss the stresses, challenges, and rewards of caregiving.
Financial support from Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia makes it possible for Primeplus Senior Centers to serve seniors of all income levels.
